About me
My name is Tatyana Genkin. I am a highly competent music instructor experienced in teaching piano and providing general musical education. I use my professional qualifications and skills to make the learning process engaging, fulfilling, and fun for students of any age and level. In addition to my experience and personal qualities, I have a solid educational foundation and a passion for music and performance arts. I strongly believe that music has the power to develop mind and soul and enhance people’s lives. I teach piano and I also educate. When studying music, my students discover the life from completely different angle; they realize how everyday life and music are connected; they learn about different historical periods, customs, traditions, and cultures. Studying music opens a whole new world!

Studio Policies
My studio is located in the Bay Terrace area of Staten Island close to Hylan Boulevard and Amboy Road. I can teach you at my studio or online. The lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Usually the students have one or two lessons per week.
You receive a FREE 30-minute trial lesson.

RATES
In-Studio and Online:
Thirty dollars ($30.00) per half-hour lesson;
Forty five dollars ($45.00) per 45 minute lesson;
Sixty dollars ($60.00) per full hour lesson.

ATTENDANCE:
Students have to commit to the regular attendance. Lessons canceled with at least twenty-four (24) hours advance notice will be rescheduled schedule permitting. Students are responsible to pay for no-show or tardiness. If you think you are going to be delayed, please call or text to let me know if you are coming.
PRACTICE:
Regular home practice is essential for students' success. Ideally, students should practice at least 5 days of the week.
Short daily practice sessions are more effective than one or two long sessions per week. The most important time for students to practice is right after their lesson, to reinforce what they have just learned.
Parental involvement in home practice is crucial for students' success. Please help your child establish and follow a regular practice routine, and make sure that practice time is free of distractions. If you are the parent of an elementary age student, please plan to sit with your child and oversee at least a portion of their daily practice time.
